So who is this girl behind the camera?
Hello! My name is Jenna McCollum and it seems like portraits have almost always been my thing. As an adolescent I was always buried in a sketch book drawing my friends and family. I took my love of art with me into exploring photography, and continued to find myself drawn to people and their faces more than anything else. Then true inspiration hit when I discovered the portrait work of Richard Avedon. That's when I knew what I wanted to do and work towards. I want to use my camera to capture a little piece of who you are.
Based out of the beautiful Monterey County in California, I focus on photographing families and teens for many of the important milestones in their lives. From your senior year in High School, to getting engaged, to starting a family, and many more in between. With the help of my husband Garrett, it is our goal to showcase you looking your best, and to make your portrait experience easy and as fun as possible, with beautiful results.
When I'm not Foto-ing...
I love almost all things entertainment. In fact, I think I'm just a little bit of an entertainment nerd. If I'm not currently working on a portrait session, you can usually find me snuggled up with a favorite movie, book or TV show. Sci-fi, fantasy, comedy and drama, I love it all! I also love playing with my adorable lovebird named Icarus. Yep that's right, I'm also a bird lady.
What's up with this "Foto-Froggy" name?
I've always found the unique and vibrant creatures of nature to be so inspiring! Among my favorites are the tiny but vibrant tree frogs of South America. Their bright and beautiful coloring grabs your attention and draws you in, no matter how tiny they are!
I feel that the right photograph can capture personality and beauty in much the same way, allowing the subject to stand out while everything else fades from view. Blending those thoughts with the clean and simple spelling of the Spanish word for "photo", and I came up with my business name!
