Anthony's Mini Senior Portraits Session in Salinas

The majority of Senior Portraits I shoot are for young ladies. Senior girls are usually just a little bit more excited about dressing up and having their portraits taken than the guys are, and why not? It's a great chance to look like a million bucks and feel like a supermodel! But that doesn't mean that girls are the only ones who need their portraits in the yearbook! So I was pleasantly surprised to hear from Anthony, a senior at Alisal High School who needed his portraits taken for the yearbook.

Normally for seniors I recommend my Full Portrait Session, which lasts about an hour, and offers time for multiple wardrobe changes. But since the yearbook deadline was fast approaching, we decided on a Mini Session -only about 25 minutes.

It turned out to be just enough time for us to get some great shots in Old Town Salinas. And since Anthony didn't need to change his outfit much, we were able to work very quickly and get plenty of images to choose from.

Anthony was a very easy-going model, and definitely had his own style that was fun to showcase. I loved being able to play the red brick buildings off of his blue denim shirt. It's not that often that I get a request for a more urban setting, instead of the usual greenery. So for me this was a very fun challenge! Anthony may not have been a huge smiler, but he still gave me some great poses and expressions that felt straight out of a GQ magazine.

Thing went so well during this session, that I am excited to offer Mini Sessions as a standard option for next years' Senior Portrait season (June - September). I think its the perfect option if you're just looking for something quick and simple to be turned into the school yearbook. And as with all other portraits, you'll still have a Viewing and Ordering session afterwards to choose your favorite images for print.

I love these senior boy photos! You did a great job and Anthony totally has that GQ thing down! Downtown Salinas made the perfect urban backdrop too.
