Recently I had the opportunity to photograph my friend and very talented hair stylist Inez. She's only weeks (maybe days!) away from welcoming her first child into the world. I've known Inez for the past few years and I just couldn't be happier or more excited for her and Michael. Knowing that Inez is a very all-natural sort of person, I wanted to give her maternity session an earthy and whimsical feel with lots of warm tones. Inez understood exactly what I was going for and came with her hair done up in this beautiful braid. We dressed her (with some help from a friend's wardrobe) in beautiful neutral colors and this gorgeous tulle skirt, and took to the outdoors in Monterey. I was a little anxious about the weather, as it had been pouring buckets all morning. But the forecast said things would clear up by the afternoon, and with her due date fast approaching, this might be our only opportunity! So we kept our fingers crossed and watched the skies for a break in the rain. Fortunately, luck was with us, and we were able to take advantage of all the lush green that the recent rain has provided.
