Shortly after my husband and I got back from our honeymoon last year, I was contacted by an out of town friend who was hoping to book me for her wedding in 2015. It was to be a simple, laid-back, very un-stuffy, family and friends affair, but Montana & Philippe both knew that having professional images of such a special day was not something they could skip or leave to chance. Well how could I say no to friends who really value photography, and even better, are excited about my work and style?! It's pretty much a dream situation!
Not too long ago, my good friend and fellow photographer Brenden Murphy, of So Cute Photo, and I, decided to get together and shoot each other in the face! (Sorry, lame photographer's joke, I just couldn't help myself). It was high time that we both got some updated headshots, not to mention it's rare that we ourselves step out from behind the camera for a little fun and glamor. The most recent professional portraits I had of myself were from my wedding, which are lovely. But I needed some images looking a little more normal and a little less "bridey", and Brenden was looking to switch things up with a more grown-up subject, since she primarily photographs newborns.
We took some lovely images near a few cherry blossom trees in the late afternoon/early evening, hoping to catch some of that gorgeous warm natural light before sunset.
